Mr. Medina is the one of the two founding Principal Engineers of the firm and along with co-founder Jeff Head, PE oversees all projects and manages all client relationships. Growing up in a family owned construction business where his father stressed the value of understanding the industry from the bottom up, Mr. Medina worked his way from a laborer to foreman while he was in high school and college. After receiving his Bachelor’s degree from New Mexico State University in Civil Engineering (Structural Focus) in 2002, Mr. Medina was hired by a general contractor in the Phoenix area where he advanced quickly from project engineer to project manager, overseeing numerous multi-million dollar commercial and medical projects over nearly a four year period. Mr. Medina was offered a position as a structural designer with a well-known firm out of Tucson in their Phoenix area office, where he spent the next five years designing mainly structural steel, masonry and wood structures in the residential, commercial and industrial sectors. Mr. Medina ultimately bid and managed his own projects, mentored junior engineers and oversaw the special inspection and material testing operations in the Phoenix area office. 

In 2011 Mr. Medina married his wife Delilah and they moved their family back home to Santa Fe, New Mexico. Mark was offered a position with one of North America’s leading solar racking manufacturers in Albuquerque, NM where he gained further structural design and project management experience. Mr. Medina co-developed both a single-axis tracker and fixed tilt racking system and ultimately gained the title of Commercial and Industrial Product Manager.

Mr. Medina is currently a registered Professional Engineer in the state of New Mexico.  Mr. Medina’s strong background in construction management, structural design and project management have enabled him to excel in creating and sustaining long lasting, successful relationships with both his associates and clients throughout his career. Mr. Medina is extremely excited to team up with Co-Founder Jeff Head who he met during college and has been friends with and worked with throughout their careers to apply all they have learned to building and growing Sol Engineering Solutions, LLC into an industry leading firm.
